10 best business bank accounts in the UK
The business accounts a new UK company is usually offered, from app banks to the high street.
A limited company should be paid into an account in its own name. These are introductions, not a verdict that one account is right for you. Each bank decides eligibility.
For a brand-new company, Tide is the account we walk directors through first. Starling Bank puts invoicing inside the banking app. Monzo Business is the other app account, with pots for separating tax from running costs. Mettle is NatWest’s digital account and is often paired with FreeAgent. Anna Money suits a very small firm that wants tax tools next to the account. Zempler Bank is the digital account formerly called Cashplus, with a card and links into accounting software.
On the high street, Barclays, NatWest, and Lloyds Bank are the names formation agents introduce when a founder wants a branch as well as an app. New companies are often offered a fee-free period. Read the current terms on the bank’s own site.
If a director lives outside the UK, the usual introductions are Wise Business and Revolut Business for multi-currency accounts, and Payoneer when the business is paid by marketplaces or overseas clients.
Hydra may earn a commission if you buy through a link on this page. You pay the provider’s price, not a Hydra price. Bank, energy, and finance links should use the provider’s own wording.
